Glass Artist Eric Hess at the New Orleans Museum of Art

Local Glass Artist Eric Hess was one of 9 artists selected to showcase a piece of art during the annual Art in Bloom event, which is a five-day event that showcases more than 100 exhibitors that create inspirational designs, sculptures and sceneries in over a dozen categories. Of those exhibiting there are only 9 local artists selected. The sculptural interpretation Eric created is base on art by Joan Miro, which is pictured behind the piece Eric created. The piece can viewed at the museum until March 18th, 2012.

The New Orleans Museum of Art, the city’s oldest fine arts institution, has a magnificent, permanent collection of more than 40,000 objects. The Museum continues to exhibit, interpret and preserve works of art from ancient to modern times. As it has for almost 100 years, the New Orleans Museum of Art continues to be a gathering place for all those seeking to share the beauty of this extraordinary collection of world art and learn from it.
